++++Dr. Will Boyd

Will Boyd, MBA, PhD, DD, DSc is the Chief Servant and Patriarch of Zion Ministries—a ministry consisting of thousands of churches in eighteen countries.  Boyd founded Zion Ministries not long after he became the founding pastor of Mt. Zion Temple of Deliverance and Praise, located in Greenville, Illinois in 2001.

Boyd accepted Christ into his life on May 4th, 1986 at the Lee Street Church of God under the ministry of Reverend Bobby Damon.  In 1989, he finished high school and began working on his bachelors of science in Engineering at The University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC.  While in Columbia, Boyd began attending a then storefront church, Genesis Church of God in Christ.  Genesis, the “place of new beginnings,” was founded by Elder Keith Kershaw.   On February 14th, 1991, Boyd accepted his call into the ministry.  He was later licensed by both The Church of God in Christ (Memphis, TN) and the Church of God (Anderson, Indiana).  In addition to Reverend Damon and Elder Kershaw, Boyd also served under Reverend Howard Hammond at Brockington Street Church of God before accepting a tour of duty to The People’s Republic of China for a Fortune 500 company.  While serving in manufacturing and engineering in Nanjing, China, Boyd ministered in Bible Studies and served as a guest lecturer at three different universities.

Upon his return to the United States, Boyd continued to serve in the Church of God and married Vida B. Brewer on June 20, 1998. Answering a divine call to further serve God, the Boyds relocated to Illinois and soon after joined the ministry team at Bibleway House of Prayer under the direction of Pastor Charles Fields (now the late Bishop Charles Fields).  Within a few months, Boyd was appointed interim pastor by Apostle C.L. Woods of Charis Cathedral (York, PA) and Pastor Dave Dolan of New Life Tabernacle (Sullivan, IL).  Boyd was later recognized as Bibleway’s Senior Pastor after Pastor Fields was named Bishop and Pastor Emeritus.  Feeling called to serve more than Mulberry Grove, Illinois, Boyd resigned the pastorate at Bibleway after growing the church to the point that there was standing room only in the sanctuary.  With the blessing of both Apostle Woods and Pastor Dolan, Boyd began holding two church services each week in two locations, Greenville, Illinois and Mattoon, Illinois which were more than eighty miles apart.  As more church pastors and ministry leaders began to see Boyd as their pastor and bishop, he founded Zion Ministries. Boyd was later named the Presiding Bishop, before being elevated to Archbishop in 2007 and then Metropolitan Archbishop in 2012.   Boyd now serves as the Chief Servant and Metropolitan Archbishop to bishops, pastors, and ministers worldwide.

Boyd holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from The University of South Carolina, a Master of Business Administration from Regis University, a Doctorate of Philosophy in Religion from Christian Bible College, a Doctorate of Philosophy of Organization and Management from Capella University, a Doctorate of Science in Christian Counseling from Saint James The Elder Theological Seminary, a Doctorate of Christian Clinical Psychology from Dayspring University, and an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Apostolic College of Theology & Seminary in Ghana.

By God’s grace, Boyd has lectured and ministered in churches and universities in Africa, the United Kingdom, and The People’s Republic of China.  He has served as the Dean of Student Success and an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Business at Greenville College in Greenville, Illinois.   He has been featured in a number of news and magazine articles for his service in education, ministry and municipal governance. He was elected the first African American City Councilman in Greenville, Illinois and ran for the Illinois U.S. Senate in 2010.  In addition to serving as Chief Servant of Zion Ministries, Boyd serves as the Acting President of St. James The Elder Theological Seminary and Acting Patriarch of Holy Catholic Church International (HCCI)—a non-Roman Catholic convergence ministry with 870 archbishops, 1300 bishops, and a host of priests and pastors with Catholic and Protestant ties. Boyd is the author of the following three books: 1) Scratching the Surface, 2) Can You Hear Me Now?  How Active Listening and Continuous Articulation of Core Values Can Improve Leadership Effectiveness in Any Organization, Even the Church, and 3) Watch God!

Dr. Boyd, his wife and their three children reside in Florence, Alabama.
